About the Product
The Firewire Spun Honey with Helium construction is the modern evolution of the classic Spitfire, developed by Dan Mann for surfers who want to get the most out of small, weak waves and everyday conditions. Speed, ease, and performance where other boards fall short.
Designed as a performance groveler, the Spun Honey offers efficient paddling, excellent wave entry, and a fast, fluid feel underfoot. The diamond tail provides quick rail-to-rail transitions, greater control in turns, and dynamic response – especially effective in inconsistent beach breaks and more technical sections.
Shape and geometry:
- Outline with the widest point slightly behind the center – balancing stability, paddling, and rear foot response
- Bottom with single concave + aggressive double concave, extending towards the nose for more lift, speed, and release in turns
- Rocker optimized between the Sweet Potato and the original Spitfire – more straight-line speed without losing maneuverability
Helium construction:
One of the most advanced technologies on the market, with reduced weight, high strength, and extremely fast response. High-density layers on the deck ensure superior durability, while Paulownia and Balsa wood rails offer controlled flexibility, greater projection, and acceleration.
Configuration and dimensions:
- 5 fin configuration – compatible with thruster, quad or twin + trailer (Futures fins)
- Dimensions: 5'8" × 20 3/8" × 2 1/2"
- Volume: 32.5 L
The right choice for those who want more speed, more performance, and more sessions enjoyed in everyday waves.
