Patagonia Durable Down Hoody Jacket Black

The Patagonia durable down hoody in black combines 700-fill-power recycled down insulation with a robust, midweight construction. Designed for climbing, mountaineering, trekking, and other outdoor activities, it provides thermal protection and freedom of movement without adding excessive weight.

Insulation to face the cold:

The main insulation consists of recycled duck, goose, and other waterfowl down reclaimed from down products. The discontinuous quilting helps keep the insulation in place and promotes mobility, so you can continue exploring in comfort.

In the cuffs and underarms, 80g Thermogreen™ synthetic insulation, made of 100% recycled polyester, helps preserve the insulation's loft and reduces water absorption in areas most exposed to moisture and wear.

Durable exterior and lightweight lining:

The exterior uses a lighter version of the fabric from Patagonia's Steel Forge workwear jackets. The high-strength Ultra-PE ripstop construction protects the insulation against abrasion and offers durability for demanding use in mountain environments.

• Shell made of 98% recycled nylon and 2% recycled polyester, in 1.9 oz Ultra-PE ripstop, with a solvent-free acrylic coating.
• Lining made of 100% recycled polyester Pertex® Quantum ripstop, certified by OceanCycle and produced with material recovered from coastal communities at risk of plastic pollution.
• Durable water repellent (DWR) finish on the shell and lining, made without intentionally added PFAS.

Lighter than the exterior, the lining helps reduce bulk, improve mobility, and make it easier to pack the jacket.

Adjustments that help retain heat:

• Warm hood with soft elastic binding and single-pull adjustment to better retain heat.
• Full-length, two-way front zipper with a zipper garage at the chin for added comfort.
• Wide shoulders and discontinuous quilting that facilitate overhead movement, especially useful in climbing and other mountain activities.
• Cuffs with elastic binding and drawcord-adjustable hem to limit cold air intake.
• Two large zippered side pockets to warm your hands.

Easy to store and transport:

The jacket can be packed into its own left pocket, making it easy to carry in a backpack. Weighing approximately 652g, it combines a resistant construction and a high level of thermal insulation with a size suitable to take with you on outdoor activities.

Washing instructions:

Machine wash cold and do not bleach. Tumble dry low, do not iron or steam. For best results when drying, use two tennis balls.
